What Is DME ?
Dme Is A Colorless Gas That Is Transformed Into A Liquid Under Low Pressure For Use In Diesel Engines. Simple Ether Expressed Chemically As Ch3-O-Ch3. Dme Also Has A High Cetane Number Of Approximately 55 Thereby Producing Minimal Soot And Reduced Nitrogen Oxide When Used For Combustion In Diesel Engines. Typically Made From Biomass Or Natural Gas It Can Be Handled Similar To Propane.
Liquid Petroleum Gas
It Is Sometimes Referred To As Synthetic Lpg (Liquid Petroleum Gas) Or Propane. From A Cost Standpoint, Diesel Fuel Is Related To The Cost Of Crude Oil, Whereas With Ng (Natural Gas), Approximately 20% Of The Cost Is From The Raw Material. Unlike Natural Gas When Vented It Releases Methane Which Is A Harmful Global Warming Pollutant, Dme Does Not Exhibit This Problem. Dme Is A Cleaner Fuel, Bio-Degradable, Non-Corrosive, And Emits Minimal To Zero Soot. It Is Easy To Store And Transport, Liquefies At Low Pressure And Has A High Well-To-Wheel Efficiency.
